  • Then, go to \Users\User Name \AppData\Local\ Intuit\QuickBooks and search the QBWUSER.INI file.

  • If you cannot find the file, click on Folder followed by Search Options under the Organize tab present at the top left corner of the Window.

  • Under the View tab, you have to check to mark the Show hidden files, folders, or drives option.

  • Then, click on Apply followed by OK.

  • After that, you have to right-click the file and choose the Rename option.

  • At the end of the file name, you have to add .OLD.

  • Lastly, try to open QuickBooks and check if you can resolve the QuickBooks not responding when opening a company file error.
